EVENT: WATCH REEF CORAL SPAWNING LIVE ON THE INTERNET FROM NEW CALEDONIA


Round-table discussion and screening of one-off images on Friday 26 November 2010 at 10am Paris-time (8pm New Caledonia) Live streaming from Paris (National Museum of Natural History of Paris ) and Nouméa Live streaming followed by playback on the Museum’s new website


EVENT: WATCH REEF CORAL SPAWNING LIVE ON THE INTERNET FROM NEW CALEDONIA
For the closing of the International Year of Biodiversity, the Paris National Museum of Natural History of Paris, WWF, CRISP, CPS and IRD have come together for a project to raise public awareness of the biodiversity of the New Caledonian coral reefs.

The wealth and fragility of these species will be highlighted during a one-off event, Friday 26 November 2010 at 10pm Paris-time from the Museum’s Auditorium de la Grande Galérie de l’Évolution in Paris, and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community in Nouméa.

Knowledge, conservation and appreciation of the coral reefs will be the key words of this encounter
Visit on the internet the live screening from New Caledonia of coral spawning and a round-table discussion between Paris and Nouméa: this will bring together scientists, conservation managers and representatives from the local communities involved in the conservation of the coral reefs. Discussion will be enriched by questions from primary, junior high and high school students in the room.
